How do you try to live for eternity? (Revelation 22:1-6)

It can be hard to think about eternity when there are so many things to busy myself with on a day-to-day basis - and especially since I don’t consider myself to be a great planner by nature.  As someone who has accepted Jesus as my savior and believes in that relationship as my path to spending eternity with God, I try to live by following Jesus’ example of having compassion for people and being a servant.  Also, knowing that there will be a perfect afterlife with no pain, no stress and no worry, I try to look at my earthly responsibilities and circumstances with an attitude of “I get to…” instead of “I have to...”  I find that approach reduces a lot of the self-centeredness that could easily distract me from contributing to furthering God’s kingdom.

Imagine Heaven: Near-Death Experiences, God's Promises, and the Exhilarating Future That Awaits You by John Burke
All of us long to know what life after death will be like. Bestselling author John Burke is no exception. In Imagine Heaven, Burke compares over 100 gripping stories of near-death experiences (NDEs) to what Scripture says about our biggest questions of Heaven: Will I be myself? Will I see friends and loved ones? What will Heaven look like? What is God like? What will we do forever? What about children and pets?

For decades, Burke has been studying accounts of survivors brought back from near death who lived to tell of both heavenly and hellish experiences. While not every detail of individual NDEs correlate with Scripture, Burke shows how the common experiences shared by thousands of survivors--including doctors, college professors, bank presidents, people of all ages and cultures, and even blind people--point to the exhilarating picture of Heaven promised in the Bible.

This thrilling journey into the afterlife will make you feel like you've been there. It will forever change the way you view the life to come and the way you live your life today. You'll discover Heaven is even more amazing than you've ever imagined.

    What Is Heaven Like?
Christians believe that in heaven, we will live with God. What would that be like? Will we see loved ones there? Can those in heaven now see us? Do we go there immediately after we die? Where is heaven? And what will we do there . . . for eternity? Bottom line: What is heaven like?

What Do I Have to Do to Get into Heaven?
I think we’d all choose heaven over hell. But what do we have to do to get in?
