TREAT YOUR STREET THIS HALLOWEEN
As families walk around neighborhoods this Halloween, you can do something "extra" to improve their trick-or-treat experience and build relationships. When you spend time investing in your neighbors, you start the process of bringing hope into their lives.
We have put together ideas on how to pull this off in a way that fits your neighborhood and your personality.
HERE ARE SOME IDEAS TO TREAT YOUR STREET
- Move your fire pit from your backyard to the end of your driveway. Now your instantly more accessible and while you are hanging out, you can say hi to the trick-or-treaters.
- Have treats for the kids and adults. Provide candy that the kids will actually want, and have something fun for the parents. Maybe it's a cooler of beverages, some hot cider, or even have some brats on the grill or pizza.
- Have inclusive treats for kids who are impacted by food allergies. This time of year can cause a lot of stress to them and their families. Providing safe "non-food" treats to them will help them feel included. You can have a bowl of little trinkets like bubbles, slinkies, bouncy balls, coins, spider rings, etc.
- Host a Candy Swap Station. You know what it is like to get a bunch of candy you don't want. Be the house that has a solution. Kids can swap out their not-so-favorite candy for candy they want.
