Strange Things

    Ridge Staff Q&A

How can you treat someone who scoffs at what you believe with love? (2 Peter3:1-4)

I remember that all of us, whether we believe or not in the promise and hope of Jesus, struggle with something. For some of us it was as simple as seeing the truth and believing in it. And for others, it may take countless times to even see a hint of how God is working in their life. For the people that scoff at what I believe, I still treat them with the same respect and try and get to know them better. It’s when you get to know them better that you can begin to listen and break down some barriers to find the source of their scoffing.

Imagine Heaven: Near-Death Experiences, God's Promises, and the Exhilarating Future That Awaits You by John Burke
All of us long to know what life after death will be like. Bestselling author John Burke is no exception. In Imagine Heaven, Burke compares over 100 gripping stories of near-death experiences (NDEs) to what Scripture says about our biggest questions of Heaven: Will I be myself? Will I see friends and loved ones? What will Heaven look like? What is God like? What will we do forever? What about children and pets?

For decades, Burke has been studying accounts of survivors brought back from near death who lived to tell of both heavenly and hellish experiences. While not every detail of individual NDEs correlate with Scripture, Burke shows how the common experiences shared by thousands of survivors--including doctors, college professors, bank presidents, people of all ages and cultures, and even blind people--point to the exhilarating picture of Heaven promised in the Bible.

This thrilling journey into the afterlife will make you feel like you've been there. It will forever change the way you view the life to come and the way you live your life today. You'll discover Heaven is even more amazing than you've ever imagined.

    What Is Heaven Like?
Christians believe that in heaven, we will live with God. What would that be like? Will we see loved ones there? Can those in heaven now see us? Do we go there immediately after we die? Where is heaven? And what will we do there . . . for eternity? Bottom line: What is heaven like?

What Do I Have to Do to Get into Heaven?
I think we’d all choose heaven over hell. But what do we have to do to get in?
